The murder of Haryanvi singer, actor and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan has sent shockwaves through Shamli and the Haryanvi entertainment industry. Who Was Ankit Baliyan?
Ankit Baliyan was a popular Haryanvi singer and actor from Bantikhera village in Shamli district. He had built a strong following through his songs, acting appearances and social-media presence. His popular tracks reportedly included “Bhari Court Mein Goli Marenge Meri Jaan,” “Baby Badmash” and “Gainer.” He was also reportedly preparing to enter local politics and contest district panchayat elections.
What Happened Outside the Gym?
According to initial reports, Baliyan had gone to a gym in Shamli’s Aryapuri area. As he came out and headed towards his vehicle, attackers allegedly lying in wait opened fire. Reports differ on the exact number of shots fired, but police and media accounts indicate a sustained attack involving multiple rounds. He was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
